Add some flair to your Restaurant by recognizing National “Fun” Holidays
Every
morning on my way to work as I listen to the local radio station the announcers
often say this is National “_______” Day. So I thought to myself what a great
way for a restaurant to incorporate the day into their online marketing
strategy! There are so many fun holidays that people do not recognize or do not
even remember exist. Almost every day out of each month there are special days
relative to the restaurant business. The great thing about it is that you don’t
have to give anything away unless you want to, which is always a nice gesture,
or you can utilize social media networks in a way where people can interact and
share your posts with others. With the positive attention you draw to your
restaurant the more traffic and likeability will occur. People often get tired
of the redundancy and switching up your posts by adding a different type of
message will engage your followers and can attract a new set of followers as
well! Here is a list below of a few fun holidays and some suggestions on how to
utilize these unique holidays in your favor.
November-
National
Nacho Day- Perfect for a Sports Bar and Grill- This year National Nacho Day
actually fell on a Monday. If you have sports enthusiasts who you know are
likely to show up to Monday Night NFL Football serve them Nachos! Why not serve
a true football food staple to your customers. If it’s already on the menu, serve
the item as a special and promote, promote, promote on social media. Don’t forget
to add the most important part, the image of the Nachos of course!
National
Sunday Day- Which also happened to fall on Veterans Day. Offer a free Sundae as
a desert item with purchase of an entrée. Better yet offer free sundaes to all
Veterans without the purchase of an entrée.
National Pickle
Day- Make fried pickles
December
–
National Red
Apple Day- Incorporate apples into your dishes or make an apple pie or cobbler
as a desert special.
National
Chocolate Covered Anything Day- Post a chocolate covered strawberry on social
media and mention something like “parents leave the kids at home and have a
date night”, serving items that have chocolate.
National
Sangria Day- There are several months out of the year that have specialty cocktails
as a National Holiday. Promote those special cocktails and if you don’t serve
them already mention your bartender. Bartender Jo is making Sangria tonight!
Come in and see him work his magic.
Any time you
