Ask Questions to Engage Followers

The key to being successful on any social media network is to engage with your followers. Make sure to reply to comments to let them know you care about what they have to say. The way to effectively engage with your followers is to ask questions. Be sure to think about what you are going to ask and the way you ask it. The comments and feedback your fans generate will create a dialogue about your brand. 

The following are some question topics you can use to engage your followers and even bring in new ones.

1. Fill in the Blank - this is a great way to find out what your fans are thinking, this way you can know a little more about them and provide you with new ideas

2. Surveys - this is a great way to generate feedback about the product or service

3. Educational - share interesting information about your service 

4. Opinions on Shared Material - get their opinion on something new that your brand wants to try

5. Either/Or - "A fun question", comparing products and services

6. Simple - yes or no questions, what is working and what could be changed

7. Experience - let your followers know that you care about what they think. Ask about relevant topics within your industry

8. Ask for Tips - start conversations about using your product or service. Ask engaging questions 

9. Timely Post - Ask your followers what they are up to on holidays or their reactions of current events happening

10. Ask for Help - this type of question can be useful to your company when you are developing your product or service and want to collect ideas directly from the customer

When asking questions, make sure you keep them short and simple. keeping questions short will allow your followers to understand the question and want to reply to it. Long questions will only make the followers move through the post and not care too much about what you are asking.
